we got our hire car and let ourselves into our home for the next 10 nights!
We unloaded th car headed to the supermarket then had a walk to the beach for a late dinner.
This one moaned,
He whined that we weren’t having pizza, he moaned that the machine that sells bouncy balls wasn’t there anymore, He sobbed loudly that his sausage was cut up!
You know you brood are loud when you haven’t even finished eating and the waitress brings the bill!
We get home and hubby take a shower, while he is getting into his pj’s M calls from the toilet “Mummy I’ve had a poo!” We all know what that means , off I go to wipe the bum of said child when whooops, aghhhhh. hubby left the bathroom floor so wet that one leg went in front of me and I ended up doing the splits in not a very dignified manner. I have to have a glass of wine to make myself feel better!
Tuesday is a new day and after not much sleep we head outta the door to the park then to soft play as it’s too hot and windy to be outdoors.
Soft play ends and J loses the ability to put on his own shoes!
So we are off again with the whiney “I want you do it!”
Hopefully we wont have this much drama all of or holiday.otherwise I will need another one without the kids to recover.
Oh wait I have a camping trip booked with the girlies.
So when the whiney, whingy, Crying doesn’t stop I must repeat to myself “I’m getting a weekend off soon!”

Last week I was offered a chance to attend one of the many Christmas in July events in London.
I must say it was a bit surreal, outside there was hot sunshine and people eating ice cream. Inside however it was snowing and there was christmas music playing and the smell of christmas lingered through the air.
I arrived at the venue not knowing what was going to be behind the doors. What I was greeted with was a vast amount of christmas trees, snow, and a winter lighting. Through a door into a room filled with a range of gifts in a mock fireplace.
I was offered a drink and given a brief description of what was in the room.
In the corner of the room was Arona Khan giving quick tips of how to wrap difficult gifts.
There were chocolates and biscuits to sample along with a bake at home cake.
This cake is amazing for mums like me who want a quick fix for a Christmas bake.
This microwaveable cake kit (Yes I said microwaveable) cooks in under 4 minutes and includes everything to make this amazing tasting and looking igloo! Including the backdrop and cardboard cutout figures – It will be retailing at £3.99
I sampled some of this cake and it was delicious.
Through another door into the next room where there were cocktails being made and more food to sample.
Along with these veg crisps was a bowl full of cocoa and Spiced Rum flavour crisps.
Part of the Tesco Finest Range these crisps are on my must buy list this christmas at only £4.
Along with the savoury snacks were a few sweet snacks and christmas isn’t christmas in our house until we have had our first mince-pie.
These mini mince pies are ideal if your anything like me and can quite easily eat your entire body weight in them before christmas eve. At least if they are mini you can eat twice as much. Right?
There were also loads of the “free from” range. Tesco seem to be quite good at finding delicious free from products –
The Christmas free from gluten range includes.
Chocolate Yule Cake – £4.50,
Berry Cheesecake – £4
Iced Fruit cake Slices £2.60
Mince Pies £1.75
Around the corner was entitled “The Night before Christmas”
Here another faux fireplace decorated with snow and garlands await the special arrival.
In front of the fireplace a chair for santa to rest his feet while he eats his mince-pie and drinks his wine.
With a coffee table laid with an inviting cheese board.
Then onto The children’s room where I think “he” had been already as there were open gifts around the room.
This Snowman Milkshake gift set £12 – I think I might add this to My kids Xmas Eve basket this year!
There were toys for Boys and Girls of all ages.
Hot wheels and Dolls look like a good option for us this year!
After a quick toilet stop after sampling all those drinks (hic)
And now its time for Christmas Morning. The table laid full of food and Bucks Fizz
I would love to have all this laid out on christmas morning. Brioche loaf, croissants with Jam, A big pot of tea mmmmmm.
Ooops sorry I went of into dreamy christmas land then.
Even the Dogs aren’t over looked – with the decorate your dogs bone gift set!
Around another corner and into a little room is the main event!
The smell as I walked in the room made my taste buds jump!
So many enticing ideas, A brilliant range of side dishes there is even Christmas dinner in a box. Priced at £25 it includes Half bottle of champagne a christmas pudding and obviously the turkey and veg with accompaniments.
On the table to try were some Christmas market inspired sausages. They really melted in your mouth. Another item for my christmas shopping list! £2.50 (400g)
On to the night after the day before.
Now I’m not a seafood fan but if you are this could be a showstopper for your boxing day table or a dinner party over the festive season.
It’s priced at £32.50 (1.44kg)
The slate and chrome 3 tier platter comes with-
A whole lobster
A selection of king prawns
Sweet, Tangy Marie Rose Sauce
Smoked mackerel Pate
Salted Caramel Roulade
Other Food Items That caught my eye were the dessert platter £12 It comes ready to serve on a slate effect board and includes –
Coconut panna cotta
Lemon mousse with a pistachio crumb
White chocolate blondie with white chocolate and fruit compote
On the Way up to get a cuppa was Michelle, the florist. She was showcasing the christmas range of flowers and plants. It looks like there will be succulents on my list too! Also these live trees at I think £15, I may need a couple for my front door!
I also Came home with a goodie bag full of lovley goodies.
It looks like my shopping list will be pretty full before we even get to December.
Two nights ago I spent an hour fighting with a small boy who wanted pudding.
We sat down for dinner, I’d made some pasta and sauce concoction, and while M and I were happily scoffing our pasta down J spent most of he time playing with his toys
After about 30mins he said he wanted his pudding. He still hadn’t eaten his dinner.
I told him like a role model parent if he eats his dinner then I will go and get pudding. M sat patiently waiting for her brother as it wouldn’t be fair to let one and not the other.
However. While I was talking to M, J did no more but picked up his plate and scraped it in the bin!
He then started to strop so to save agro I took him to his room.
An hour went by before he actually calmed down but this is what I went through…… Click to play video on Instagram
..as well as trying to comfort and distract him with books and stories and what do you think you will do at school tomorrow?
I nearly caved in a few times but I was proud of myself for sticking with it.
Afterwards it was like nothing had happened – I told him I loved him gave him a hug and tucked him in bed.
This boy now knows mummy means business. …..
Until next time!
This post was sponsored/ supported by my friends and my glass of wine! 😉

If you havent heard of Brit Mums Live, the event is a conference for bloggers to attend workshops, meet other like-minded bloggers, listen to chats from inspirational people, to gain inspiration and to connect with brands!
The setting was amazing and the fizz was flowing though my nerves were high! I entered the room with My Hubby who I took for “moral support” As we walked in I met Susanna and Jennifer who asked us to make ourselves name badges and grab a glass of something.
There were waitresses handing out nibbles and they were delicious.
I put my nerves to the back of my mind and after staring at people’s chests to find out who they were and where they were from I approached a couple of bloggers who I knew from following them.
I still felt very nervous even though I had spoken to a few other mums and sneaked out before the end.
Saturday I awoke at 7.45am Registration was at 9am and it was 15 minute walk away I grabbed a shower and my breakfast bag got dressed and we still arrived by 8.45. Though I hadn’t had a cuppa.
When we had registered and got our badges and were greeted by refreshments; tea, coffee, pastries and more.
It was then time to grab a seat ready to start the day.
Next up we had a very emotional and inspiring keynote from Anne-Marie Cockburn – Author of 5742 days. I had tears throughout her speech yet found it truly uplifting to thing that this lady has gone through such an awful thing to happen but has chosen to continue through the trauma and use this to inspire others!
To follow Ann-Marie must have been daunting but Julie Creffield from the blog Too Fat To Run managed to do this with ease as she explained how she got into running from only being able to run for 20 seconds to completing several races including marathons.
After these first few speakers we had an icebreaker game of Pass the Parcel – This year was the BritMums Live 5th Birthday so the whole event was geared around that.
I found the talk interesting however I’m not sure I learnt anything relevant for me!
Just one more workshop YouTube – collaborating and Growing your audience with Kate Rushworth then it was lunch time.
Lunch was a chance again to connect with brands and catch up with fellow bloggers during this time I met up with Sally from MeetOtherMums.com – I have recently become a regular blogger on her site and she introduced me to some other regular bloggers that I knew by their blog name!
I have to say Anna of Mother Pukka was amazing. Her energy and style is infectious!
The last session of the day was with Cherry Menlove – The Little Book Of Peace chatting to us about finding peace & power in blogging. This lady I could listen to her for ages – after having miscarriages and then her husband being diagnosed with cancer she found writing gave her the peace she needed to come through the other side of her circumstances.
She also has boy / girl twins who are 6 so maybe that’s why I felt so in awe of her.
She was very funny and had most of the audience in stitches. After she had shared some of her “woman Moments” She turned to the audience to ask if anyone had any “woman Stories” Some people really went above and beyond sharing their stories – Lets not forget the Wine Cork Story!
Last part of the day was filled by the BIBs (Brilliance In Blogging) party Sponsored by Kate & Mim Mim & Asda.
There was also a chance to sample the birthday cake made by Konditor & Cook. This was delicious.
Then The BIBs Awards presented by Carol Smilie. There were lots of wine however a lot of bloggers seemed to leave before this I assume to catch trains and get home to their little ones. The full list of winners can be found here.
The Day ended with dinner that had been organised by one of the bloggers
We went to Pizza Express – this was a great chance to get to know some other bloggers a little better.
I would just like to say thanks to everyone who made me feel welcome over the weekend.
I am looking forward to the next event so I can meet more of you!
